British market access: Get your UKCA mark
Since January 01, 2021, the British government requires a new product marking for the sale of goods in Great Britain. The UKCA marking now replaces the previous European CE marking. However, for products whose specific requirements remain the same in both British and European legislation, a longer transition period was granted, which has now been extended again up to December 31, 2022.
In the case of these products, manufacturers and retailers still have one year to adapt to the new certification requirement. From January 1, 2023, it will be mandatory for them to affix the UKCA mark to every product, or they lose the permission to market it in the UK.
